The Hass Avocado Board (HAB) is a trade organization established in 2002 to promote the consumption of Hass avocados in the United States. It operates under the oversight of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, guided by a 12-member board that represents both domestic producers and importers. Based in Mission Viejo, California, HAB coordinates promotion, research, and information programs to support the U.S. Hass avocado market. Hass avocados in the United States come from California and are also imported from Mexico, Chile, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and New Zealand. The board serves its members by aligning promotion efforts with research and information initiatives to strengthen demand for Hass avocados throughout the supply chain. In 2026, Gwen Jackimek was appointed chairperson, becoming the first woman to lead HAB.
