The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy is a nonprofit organization focused on promoting responsible and equitable energy choices across the Southeast. Founded in 1985 and based in Knoxville, Tennessee, it aims to address climate change while supporting clean, safe, and healthy communities in the region. It serves as a regional advocate for energy policy, pursuing federal, state, and local climate solutions, as well as energy efficiency programs and renewable energy development including solar and wind, plus sustainable bioenergy. A recent development is a 2025 collaboration with Atlas Public Policy to produce data-driven snapshots of the Southeast's electric-vehicle ecosystem, including manufacturing trends and charging infrastructure.
