YWCA Rhode Island is a nonprofit organization with roots extending back to 1867 in the state. It aims to foster inclusion and justice in Rhode Island and advocates for groups facing structural disenfranchisement, including low-wage workers, the unemployed, women and girls, people of color, English language learners, immigrants, survivors of abuse, the LGBTQ community, and military veterans. Its mission is to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The organization is based in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. In August 2025, Perry retired after more than 28 years with the YWCA Rhode Island.
