World Horse Welfare is a long-established non-profit organization focused on improving horse welfare worldwide through a combination of education, campaigns, and hands-on care. Based in Snetterton, England, the charity supports both UK and international efforts, including a network of rescue and rehoming centers and full-time welfare staff, as well as advisory roles to major equestrian bodies. Founded in 1927 and formerly known as the International League for the Protection of Horses, it operates as the welfare arm of the FEI and acts as an advisor to the British Horseracing Authority, reflecting its position within the broader horse-industry landscape.

Its work targets horse owners, communities, and institutions by providing training, on-the-ground welfare initiatives, and international campaigns. In addition to domestic activity, World Horse Welfare has expanded into international efforts, such as partnerships and projects in Africa, with recent activity including a collaboration in Zimbabwe and a move to broaden its footprint through regional programs. The organization emphasizes both the protection of working horses and support for equestrian sport, offering tools and services intended to improve care and welfare practices for horses in diverse contexts.
