Founded in 1845, the Women’s Prison Association (WPA) is the nation’s first nonprofit organization committed to helping incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women. A leader in the criminal justice reform movement, WPA is working towards a future where systems-involved women avoid incarceration whenever possible. We provide social services and wraparound case management for systems-impacted women and LGBTQIA+ people in New York and the surrounding area. By implementing alternatives to incarceration, scaling reentry support, and uplifting families and communities, we deliver measurable outcomes with enduring impact. Through WPA programs and services, individuals can: • find safe, affordable housing • develop workplace skills and build careers • reunify with their families • plan for release while incarcerated • achieve stability in the community • access healthcare and address mental health needs • receive support in court • work toward personal goals • avoid additional systems involvement Visit our website to learn more: www.wpaonline.org
