The Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement at Washington University seeks to foster a campus-wide culture of civic life through student learning, participation, and impact. It was founded in 2005 and is based on the Washington University campus in St. Louis, Missouri. The institute centers its work on three pillars: Engage St. Louis, Engage Democracy, and Lead Change, which structure opportunities for students to learn from, contribute to, and lead in civic life.
