The Singers is a mid-sized professional choral ensemble based in St. Paul, Minnesota, founded in 2004 by Artistic Director Matthew Culloton. The 40-voice group is known across the United States for innovative programming, a commitment to new music, and high artistic standards. Since its debut at the Ravinia Festival in 2013, the ensemble has performed there four times, reflecting its national profile. The group collaborates with school choirs throughout Minnesota, bringing professional-level music making into classrooms and concerts and inspiring thousands of young singers who might not otherwise experience professional choral performance. The choir has premiered nearly 90 new works by composers-in-residence and released nine commercial recordings, and in 2019 launched American DREAMers. Its performances have been featured at national and state conferences organized by Chorus America, the American Choral Directors Association, the American Guild of Organists, and the National Federation of Music Clubs.
