The Longleaf Alliance is an environmental services organization based in Andalusia, Alabama, dedicated to securing a sustainable future for the longleaf pine ecosystem. It pursues this goal through partnerships, assistance to landowners, and science-based education and outreach, serving landowners, resource managers, policymakers, educators, scientists, and the public across the longleaf pine range. Since its founding in 1995, it has combined education, outreach, research, and hands-on involvement to provide unbiased information and practical support. Its vision centers on restoring, managing, and conserving the longleaf ecosystem so much of the South can once again host functional forests that bolster local economies, outdoor recreation, native wildlife and plants, clean water and air, and a renewed connection to history and culture. A concrete recent development is its sustained partnership with the National Forest Foundation since 2019, which has supported planting over a million longleaf seedlings on Mississippi National Forests.
