Since its founding in 2006, it has donated more than 2,500 libraries, helping around 1,000,000 children and 30,000 teachers. Each library comes with teacher training and literacy programs for children, along with one year of monitoring and support to ensure ongoing usage. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, the organization maintains offices in Xi'an, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, and Phoenix, and runs programs in China and Vietnam with plans to expand beyond those borders. The Library Project works with rural schools and related community institutions in Asia, delivering libraries along with training and ongoing support to maximize usage and impact. It currently conducts programs in China and Vietnam and maintains offices in Asia and the United States, with plans to extend its reach beyond these countries.
