The Kennedy Forum is a nonprofit think tank focused on transforming mental health and addiction care in the United States. Founded in 2013 by former Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy and based in Brigantine, New Jersey, it brings together mental health advocates, business leaders, and government agencies to pursue health equity through evidence-based practices and policy, including full implementation of the Federal Parity Law. Its work supports provider accountability, integration, and coordination, the adoption of new treatment technologies, and brain health education. To assist consumers and policymakers, it maintains Parity Registry and Parity Track resources that help file appeals for denied coverage and track parity developments across states. In 2026, the organization began collaborative efforts with the American Medical Association and other partners to develop the Mental Health Parity Index, an open platform providing real-time data on coverage, access, and reimbursement for mental health and substance use services.
