Its history dates to 1778 and it is designated a National Historic Landmark. In 2009, it was purchased by James C. Justice II and underwent a substantial restoration. The resort hosts The Greenbrier Classic, a PGA TOUR and FedExCup event, and it plans to launch The Greenbrier Medical Institute on the grounds.
