The Discovery Group operates as a small professional training and coaching consultancy formed as a partnership of two corporations owned by Barbara Thompson and John Roe. Based in Cameron Park, California, the firm provides consulting focused on improving personal and relational effectiveness at work. One active project involves advising a major organization in the greater Sacramento area as it shifts leadership styles, bridging the founders' culture with a newer generation whose values align with the majority of its clients. 

A first step in this engagement has been the introduction of a new employee evaluation process to support the transition, along with redesign and realignment of evaluation with the mission and ongoing initiatives.
