Sunbelt Steel is a Houston-based company serving the oil and gas sector through the manufacture and distribution of downhole tubulars. Its product line includes drill collars, drill pipe, and related components, and it also supplies raw materials used in downhole tools such as subs, stabilizers, reamers, and shock tools. The firm maintains a large inventory of alloy and carbon bars, notably a wide selection of 4145 bar and other grades like 4140, 4330, 4340, 8620, and 8630, to support trepanning, spiraling, and customizable collar or blank-ended bar orders depending on thread needs.

The company serves equipment manufacturers and operators in the upstream oil and gas industry, addressing supply needs for downhole tooling by providing both finished components and the necessary raw materials. Within its market, Sunbelt Steel positions itself as a value-added distributor with a broad inventory of alloy bars and related products for downhole applications. In 2021, the board appointed Russell Ginn as non-executive chairman, following prior ownership changes that included an acquisition by Freestone Partners in 2008.
