Squidoo operated as a United States–based technology platform focused on publishing original, user-created content on topic-specific pages. The service aimed to provide an open, free space where writers could organize ideas, interests, and recommendations, building portfolios of individual pages about topics they knew and cared about. The platform sought to benefit readers by offering handcrafted, human-curated content and enabled writers to earn royalties when their pages performed well, with a charitable component highlighted in its model.

Founded in 2005 and employing a sizable team, Squidoo positioned itself within the broader information and internet industry as a platform that emphasized personal, authored content over aggregated or automated material. In 2014, developments in the market included Squidoo being identified as a competitor to HubPages after HubPages announced its acquisition of Squidoo, signaling consolidation within the user-generated content space. The company was based in the United States and served a community of writers who contributed and refined their own pages.” } ]} } } } }}} } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } }}
