The Southern California Genealogical Society is a small non-profit based in Burbank, California, founded in 1962 to foster interest in family history, preserve genealogical materials, and teach effective research methods. Its headquarters house a library of more than 40,000 volumes with genealogical sources from the United States and Europe. It co-hosts the Genealogy Jamboree, one of the nation's largest genealogical conferences, typically held the first weekend in June in Burbank. The society sponsors several ethnic- and software-focused interest groups and maintains an affiliation with the Genealogical Society of Hispanic America–Southern California. Membership provides 24/7 access to the archive of more than 120 webinars in the Jamboree Extension Series, with additional webinars held twice monthly and live webcasts available to the public at no charge. Through these programs, the organization supports education and collaboration for researchers and genealogy enthusiasts, complementing its in-person events and library resources.
