South African National Parks (SANParks) is a large South African organization responsible for managing a network of national parks that preserve the country’s indigenous fauna, flora, landscapes, and cultural heritage. Within these parks, visitors can find overnight accommodation and a wide range of adventure and cultural experiences, including game viewing, bush walks, and canoeing, with conferences hosted at many sites. The organization is based in Pretoria, Gauteng, and prioritizes conservation and scientific research as foundational activities. Its activities serve leisure visitors seeking nature-based experiences as well as researchers and event organizers who use park facilities. In 2026 SANParks partnered with the South African National Biodiversity Institute and the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment to develop a biodiversity strategy described as a whole-of-society approach. Additionally, SANParks has launched initiatives such as a Greening and Food Security Programme in Eksteenfontein and a Marine Economy Small-Scale Fisheries Support Programme in Hondeklip Bay, along with Kruger recovery and flood-relief efforts.
