Snitem is the French trade association for the medical device sector, founded in 1987 and based in Courbevoie, Île-de-France. It brings together more than six hundred member companies, ranging from startups to subsidiaries of international groups, that design, manufacture and market technologies used in diagnosis, treatment, prevention and patient monitoring, including digital medical solutions. The organization serves as a forum for industry dialogue with public authorities and frames the sector as strategic for health sovereignty, the performance of the health system, and France's industrial competitiveness. It supports its members across the entire value chain, including regulation, market access, reimbursement, export, standardization and skills development. The association emphasizes its innovation-driven, regionally rooted ecosystem and notes that the sector sustains around 88,000 direct jobs. In June 2022, Blaise was elected president of Snitem and also serves on the MedTech Europe board.
