Senate of PA is listed under the food and beverage manufacturing sector in the United States and operates Honey, the Moon! Farms, based in Pennsylvania. The organization emerged from two local beekeepers aiming to preserve and share monofloral, raw honey sourced from Greece, where the beekeeping practice prioritizes natural methods and minimal interference with bees. Its products are intended for markets seeking authentic, varietal honey and a more transparent supply chain, addressing consumer interest in high-quality honey and the broader implications of honey production practices. The company positions itself at the intersection of artisanal beekeeping and international sourcing, highlighting sustainable practices and challenging the use of additives or sugar feed in honey production. A recent development mentioned is its collaboration with a Greek beekeeper to access pure honey varieties not readily available in the US. The organization emphasizes ethical considerations in honey production and aims to counter market inequities by offering distinct products that reflect traditional beekeeping methods.
