RWDC Industries is focused on replacing petroleum-derived materials with alternatives designed with human health in mind. Microplastics are now being found in our water, our food, and the human body, raising new questions about the long-term impact of the materials we use every day. RWDC exists to address that challenge at its source. Using a proprietary microbial fermentation process, we produce PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoate), a naturally occurring biopolymer made from plant-based oils. Our material, Solon®, is designed to perform like conventional plastics in use, while breaking down completely at end-of-life, without leaving microplastics behind. From foodservice items to everyday consumer products, Solon provides a practical path forward, replacing materials that persist with ones designed to return safely to the environment.
