Robin Becker Dance is a New York-based performing arts company that develops and presents contemporary dance works. Founded in 1987 and led by artistic director Robin Becker, the company maintains a broad repertory drawn from world traditions, Native American culture, and the poetry of Jelaluddin Rumi. Its movement is described as contemplative and visually striking, with choreography rooted in exploring the depths of the subconscious. Operating as a small ensemble, the company has produced sold-out performances at a range of New York venues and series. Its work has been staged in prestigious spaces such as the Joyce Theater's Altogether Different Series and the 92nd Street Y Harkness Playhouse, and it has engaged in collaborations, including a project with Roberta Flack for Breast Cancer Research with costumes by Nicole Miller. Its repertoire includes Into Sunlight, which premiered in 2011 at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Hofstra University.
