Pilobolus is a performing arts organization based in Washington Depot, Connecticut, founded in 1971, with a staff of 11 to 50 employees. The company produces movement-based performances that explore the limits of the human form and nonverbal storytelling, and extends its work through cross-disciplinary collaborations with influential thinkers and creators, as well as designed live experiences intended to teach groups how to connect and generate creativity. It has created and toured more than 120 repertory pieces to over 65 countries and has partnered with more than 75 organizations across finance, retail, media, fashion, sports, and other sectors to create bespoke performances for television, film, and live events. Pilobolus has received recognitions including a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cultural Programming, a Cannes Lion Award, and a Grammy nomination. Recent activity includes performances at festivals such as the Heinz Poll Summer Dance Festival, participation in Cyprus International Theatre Festival 2025, and involvement with SPAC as a site for Pilobolus's nationwide education program.
