The Redondo Beach Unified School District is a public education administration district based in Redondo Beach, California. It operates eight elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, plus a continuation school and an adult school, forming the local K-12 and related programs. Its stated goal is to pursue excellence in education through partnerships and ongoing communication with teachers, staff, parents, community members, and the district’s students. The district is mid-sized and has been recognized by local media as a top school district in California in October 2020. In 2019, it partnered with The Friendship Foundation to transform the former Franklin Elementary School into a preschool-focused program for special-needs students, extending its education initiatives beyond the district’s post-12th-grade Transition Program.
