The Laurel Park Police Department serves as the town's primary law enforcement agency, responsible for policing within its borders. Since 1993, it has pursued community policing practices that aim to blend the department with residents and local businesses to balance safety and quality of life. The department upholds Protect and Serve as a guiding principle reflected in daily operations. In 2018 the department introduced Tip 411 to allow anonymous tips and alerts from residents. The same year saw asset investments including two on-road/off-road motorcycles to address homeless encampments and school traffic safety issues, and the purchase of Angel Armor Level IIIA ballistic vehicle door panels through a cooperative purchasing agreement with NPPGov.
