Playing For Change is a United States–based organization that aims to inspire and connect people through the power of music. It began in 2002 when co-founders Mark Johnson and Whitney Kroenke hit the streets with a mobile recording studio and cameras to capture the heartbeat of street musicians, leading to an award-winning documentary. From those travels, the project expanded to recording and filming musicians worldwide, producing Songs Around the World and nurturing a global community.
