Pacific Symphony is a performing arts organization based in Irvine, California, serving as the resident orchestra at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall for more than ten years. Led by Music Director Carl St.Clair for 34 years, the ensemble is in its 45th season and is described as the largest orchestra formed in the United States in the last half-century, with activity on national, international, and local stages. It presents more than 100 concerts and events annually and runs education and community engagement programs that reach over 300,000 residents in Orange County and surrounding areas. The orchestra has pursued notable international engagements, including a Carnegie Hall debut in 2018 as part of Philip Glass’s 80th birthday celebration and a subsequent tour of China, along with a PBS national broadcast of Ellis Island: The Dream of America conducted by St.Clair. In 2025, the organization announced the appointment of Pola Benke as Assistant Conductor, effective August 1.
