Pacific Coast Fresh Company, previously known as Pacific Coast Fruit Company, is a Portland-based produce distributor founded in 1977 by Emil Nemarnik in the historic Produce Row. It began as a small operation in a 2,000-square-foot warehouse with eight employees. Today it ranks among the largest independent produce distributors in the Northwest, operating two facilities along the I-5 corridor — a 90,000-square-foot warehouse and Fresh Cut center in Portland and an 83,000-square-foot warehouse in Seattle. The company serves retailers, wholesalers, processors, restaurants, and other customers with programs that include USDA Organic, local Oregon and Washington produce, and Fresh Cut options, and in 2021 formed a partnership with Alpenrose Dairy to create Summer Harvest Produce Boxes. Its staff are experienced food-industry professionals who tailor services, offer training on product handling, and assist customers in planning specialty and seasonal programs, with support seven days a week.
