Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish was founded in 1955 in Vienna, beginning with 750 families and celebrating its first Masses in the Dunn Loring Firehouse. In 1956, administration of the parish was entrusted to the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, whose Salesian spirituality continues to guide the parish’s ministries and programs. Established in 1957, Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School serves students from preschool through eighth grade. Accredited by the Virginia Catholic Education Association and a member of the National Catholic Educational Association, the school has also been recognized as a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School. The school emphasizes academic excellence, faith formation, fine arts, and service to others, forming well-rounded learners grounded in Catholic values.
