The One Health Institute at UC Davis pursues global work at the intersection of animal, human, plant, and environmental health to address complex health and conservation challenges. It grew from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine's commitment to a One Health approach and is home to the Wildlife Health Center. Based in Davis, California, the institute operates within UC Davis' broader research ecosystem. Led by Executive Director Dr. Jonna A.K. Mazet, the institute provides innovation and leadership to UC Davis, the UC system, state and federal agencies, and partners around the world. It encompasses several centers and programs, including the Karen C. Drayer Wildlife Health Center, the California Raptor Center, the EpiCenter for Disease Dynamics, the OHI Laboratory, and the UC Global Health Institute Planetary Health Center of Expertise. The organization comprises a small-to-mid-sized team dedicated to research and education across wildlife health, disease dynamics, and planetary health.
