NY/NJ Baykeeper is a nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to protecting the ecological integrity and productivity of the NY-NJ Harbor Estuary. Founded in 1989 and based in Hazlet, New Jersey, the group works to reduce pollution, expand public access to waterways, influence land-use decisions, and restore habitat to benefit both natural ecosystems and nearby communities.

The organization pursues its goals through three core programs: the Clean Water Campaign, which engages in advocacy, legal action, and on-water activities such as patrols, pumpout boats, ecocruises, kayak trips, and cleanups; the Conservation Program, which identifies and preserves remaining habitat and open space through acquisition and restoration; and the Oyster Restoration Program, which aims to improve water quality and reestablish oyster populations across sites in New York and New Jersey. Notable accomplishments include preserving areas like the Hackensack Meadowlands and expanding land to Cheesequake State Park and the Hudson County Parks system, along with introducing approximately 240,000 oysters in restoration efforts in 2013. In 2019 the organization received a Monmouth County Planning Board Merit Award for its Living Shoreline project completed in 2018.
