Founded in 1970 and based in Spokane, Washington, Norlift operates in the retail space for material handling and storage equipment. It began as the Inland Northwest's authorized Clark forklift dealer, serving Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and Western Montana. The company expanded its offerings beyond forklifts to include rack and shelving, conveyor systems, and related storage and handling products. In 1990 ownership passed to a new generation, and in 1995 it became an authorized Toyota forklift dealer.

Today Norlift is the largest locally owned dealer of material handling and storage equipment in the Inland Northwest, serving regional customers with forklifts, racks, shelving, conveyors, and related systems. In 2017 the company expanded into construction equipment by introducing JCB products.
