The National Food & Beverage Foundation is a nonprofit educational and cultural organization based in New Orleans that focuses on the discovery, understanding, and celebration of food, drink, and related folklife in America and beyond. It oversees the Southern Food and Beverage Museum and affiliated entities, including the Museum of the American Cocktail, the SoFAB Research Center, the Deelightful Roux School of Cooking, the National Culinary Heritage Register, and the Nitty Grits Media Network. The foundation aims to become a leading national hub for the study of food and beverage culture, while highlighting the diverse cultures that have shaped the South’s culinary heritage. Its programming includes exhibits, lectures, tastings, and other events that bring foodways to life for the public. Recent developments reflect active community engagement through partnerships with the Jefferson Parish Library to conduct monthly food demonstrations and collaborations with Nunez Community College and international partners to illuminate Filipino Louisiana foodways, as well as connections with international offices such as the Honorary Consulate of the Philippines and the Honorary Consulate of Moldova.
