National Electrostatics Corp. (NEC) is a private, employee-owned manufacturer based in Middleton, Wisconsin, founded in 1965. It specializes in electrostatic ion beam accelerator systems, with the Pelletron as its flagship platform. The company operates a substantial facility of more than 75,000 square feet that supports production, bonding of metal and ceramic components, assembly of vacuum and electrical systems, and testing of Pelletron accelerators and related instruments. NEC has delivered over 230 Pelletron systems and serves customers in more than 50 countries, supporting research across a wide range of ion beam energies from keV to hundreds of MeV. A distinctive feature of its Pelletron design is the use of an all-metal, ceramic acceleration tube with no organic material in the vacuum volume.
