Monterey College of Law is a private, non-profit law school in Seaside, California, founded in 1972. It offers a four-year, part-time evening Juris Doctor program that is accredited by the State Bar of California’s Committee of Bar Examiners. The college also maintains non-traditional pathways, including a two-year Master of Legal Studies and a one-year LL.M. in International Law, with the MLS program authorized for individuals who wish to study law without pursuing a full JD. The campus features a LEED Platinum Community Justice Center opened in 2010, and it expanded to Santa Cruz with a first-year program that same year. More recently, the school has embraced hybrid and online formats for its JD degree, launching a hybrid JD program and earning recognition for innovation in 2026.
