Montclair Art Museum is a mid-sized cultural institution based in Montclair, New Jersey, devoted to American art across historical and contemporary periods as well as Native American art. It serves as both a presenting venue and a community education hub, with the Yard School of Art offering classes designed to engage the diverse Montclair population. Through its exhibitions and programs, the museum seeks to provide access to art across cultures and time periods while enriching the regional arts ecosystem. The organization operates within the broader museum sector, balancing scholarly collections with public-facing programming. In May 2026, the museum announced the appointment of Kate Kraczon as Director of Exhibitions and Chief Curator of the David Winton Bell Gallery, with the role taking effect mid-June 2026. This leadership change marks a step in the institution's plan to expand its curatorial capacity and shape its next chapter.
