Midcoast Federal Credit Union operates as a not-for-profit financial cooperative serving residents, families, and local businesses across the Midcoast region of Maine. Based in Freeport, it provides financial services to communities in Sagadahoc, Lincoln, and Knox counties, including the towns of Brunswick, Harpswell, and Freeport. The institution is part of the CO-OP Shared Branch Network and SURF, expanding access to services and surcharge-free ATM network availability for members. Its mission centers on empowering member and community success through financial education, technology, and service excellence, guided by core values that emphasize community involvement, education, and integrity. In addition to serving individuals, the credit union supports members’ financial objectives and emphasizes privacy, transparency, and professional development for its staff. A recent leadership development, with Christina M. Carter named president in 2026, reflects ongoing organizational evolution alongside continuing partnerships, such as the renewal of a core processing relationship with Synergent in 2025.
