Mesco Building Solutions was originally formed in Dallas, Texas in 1955 for the purpose of marketing and manufacturing pre-engineered metal building systems under the "MESCO" trade name. Shortly after formation, the company moved to it's present location in Irving, Texas. Since its inception, Mesco has maintained a position of leadership in the metal building industry. Mesco was a pioneer in the use of computers for estimating and design. As a result of its computer expertise, Mesco was an innovator in the development of the industry standard used today in multi-column structures. Early on, Mesco directed its marketing efforts toward the state of Texas, with primary focus in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. 1960 saw Mesco take the first step toward becoming a national manufacturer as it concentrated its efforts on developing national recognition and distribution of its products through a network of authorized builders. The next major step in the evolution of Mesco came about with its acquisition in 1996 by NCI Building Systems, L.P. The financial strength and purchasing power of NCI has allowed Mesco to continue its commitment to quality and growth. Mesco Building Solutions has truly become a national company. In addition, NCI's influence can be seen in the changes in Mesco's sales department. With the establishment of it's Estimating / Builder Services department and Mesco's version of the NCI estimating program (ELITE), Mesco's District Sales Managers and Builders alike now enjoy a greater opportunity to enhance their sales and market penetration.
