The Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health coordinates a coalition of medical societies to address climate-related health threats. Together, these groups represent more than a million physicians and health professionals and seek to inform the public and catalyze action on climate risks. It emphasizes that climate harms are already affecting Americans, with greater impact on communities of color and people in poverty, and promotes reducing fossil fuel use, increasing energy efficiency, and expanding clean energy to improve air and water quality with immediate health benefits. Based in the District of Columbia, the organization functions as a national coalition operating at the intersection of health and environmental issues. In 2024, it partnered with Texas PSR to support an environmental justice initiative that included a two-day professional trip to Port Arthur with health professionals, illustrating its collaborative, field-oriented outreach.
