The Maryland Stadium Authority (MSA) is a government-related organization established by the General Assembly in 1986, based in Baltimore, Maryland. Its mandate centers on building, managing, and maintaining quality facilities to support Maryland’s public interests, including sports venues, convention centers, museums, theaters, parks, and campus facilities, with a track record of completing projects on time and within budget in partnership with local governments, universities, and the private sector. Serving customers across public sector and community spaces, the authority aims to enhance the Maryland experience for residents, workers, and visitors by improving the quality and accessibility of major facilities. In addition to sports arenas, its activities encompass a broad portfolio of public infrastructure projects, and recent developments include actions related to significant regional assets and collaborations around stadium and venue transformations. The organization operates within government administration and has a regional impact across Maryland communities. A recent development noted is the Maryland Stadium Authority board’s decision to move forward with a substantial purchase related to a horse racing site in Anne Arundel County, reflecting ongoing involvement in regional asset stewardship.
