I have been a psychotherapist for over 35 years with experience in both the medical and mental health fields. I began an employee assistance company in 1985, which I owned for over twenty years. Concurrently, I began my private practice on which I am now exclusively focused. My practice involves work with adults with a specialty in marriage/relationship counseling. My philosophy is to focus on the ways a couple is competent, building on their strengths, rather than emphasizing the “pathology” of the family system. 
	 I prefer to work quickly with couples, since couples are often on the verge of making major decisions by the time they seek assistance. My goal is to give such couples effective skills to enhance communication and to help resolve conflicts effectively. To improve intimacy, the starting place must be to improve a couple's friendship with each other in order to support each of their hopes and dreams. Often, great strides can be made in less than 10 sessions.
