The London Internet Exchange (LINX) Ltd is a not-for-profit, member-owned technology organisation founded in 1994 and based in London, England. It operates Internet Exchange Points in the UK at London, Manchester, Scotland, and Wales, and in the United States at Northern Virginia, with expansion into Africa beginning in Nairobi in 2023 and Mombasa in 2025, and plans for a West Africa footprint later this year. LINX provides peering services to more than 900 autonomous systems, enabling direct data exchange that reduces latency and improves speed and reliability for Internet users. The group prioritises robust service through high-quality engineering and around-the-clock network operations centre support, and it continually invests in its infrastructure to stay at the forefront of the IXP industry. Its mutual structure guarantees that all members have an equal say in governance, with participation in AGMs and EGMs to discuss key issues. In May 2026, LINX announced a partnership with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to form the Digital Infrastructure North Alliance, a collaboration aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure in the North of England.
