Living History Farms is a living history museum and historic site that interprets 300 years of agricultural history through multiple interactive settings. It centers on three working farms—the 1700 Ioway Indian Farm, the 1850 Pioneer Farm, and the 1900 Farm—and includes an 1875 town displaying period trades. The Flynn Mansion and Barn, both listed on the National Register of Historic Places, anchor the 500-acre campus in Urbandale. The site operates seasonally from May through October and hosts a range of special events that illuminate rural life across centuries. Based in Urbandale, Iowa, it serves visitors seeking educational, immersive experiences that explore agricultural history. In 2024, the organization launched CultivatingOurFuture.com to support ongoing program development and audience engagement.
