KRGV-TV is a mid-sized broadcast television station based in Weslaco, Texas, serving the Rio Grande Valley as an ABC affiliate. Owned by the Manship family since 1964, the station originally operated as an NBC affiliate and switched to ABC in March 1976. In 2002, it launched the digital signal KRGV-DT 5.1, becoming the first fully digital station in the Rio Grande Valley. It positions itself as the region's source for news, focusing on breaking stories, weather, and investigative reporting, with the news department comprising its largest unit. Since 2015, KRGV has provided live Spanish translations of its newscasts, expanding accessibility for Spanish-speaking viewers, and in September 2023 Jake Manship was named chief executive officer and president.
