KOBI-TV/NBC5 and KOTI-TV/NBC2 are NBC-affiliate television stations operated by California Oregon Broadcasting Inc., a locally owned media group based in Medford, Oregon—the only locally owned TV stations serving the Rogue Valley and Klamath Basin. The stations were founded by William B. Smullin in the 1950s, with KOBI launching in 1953 and KOTI following in 1956, and the presidency is now held by his daughter, Patricia C. Smullin. They reach viewers across nine counties in Oregon and California. They emphasize localism as their primary focus within the broadcast industry. In 2023, the stations expanded community engagement through partnerships and initiatives, including launching a crisis helpline for agriculture and forestry workers and collaborations with groups such as the Josephine County Food Bank, the Oregon Community Foundation, Asante Health, and Providence Health & Services.
