IsraAID is a non-profit organization founded in 2001 that originated as a coalition of Israeli groups focused on disaster relief and international development. Based in Tel Aviv, Israel, it operates as an independent NGO and is described as the largest humanitarian aid organization in the country, with a global presence that has included work in more than 50 countries and a workforce around a few hundred staff members at any given time. The organization partners with local communities to deliver urgent aid, support recovery, and strengthen resilience against future disasters, addressing crises from natural disasters to epidemics and displacement. Its activities span emergency response, development initiatives, and capacity-building, with recent efforts including collaboration with international partners and interventions in WASH and disaster management, as well as rapid responses to major events such as earthquakes and storms. IsraAID’s work is organized around meeting the immediate needs of those affected by humanitarian crises while contributing to longer-term recovery and preparedness through locally led partnerships.
