ISANS is a Halifax-based non-profit in the individual and family services sector that supports newcomers across Atlantic Canada. With almost five decades of operation, it is described as the region's leading immigrant settlement service agency, delivering a range of services from pre- and post-arrival settlement support to language services, employment assistance, business integration, refugee resettlement, and community integration. Each year, ISANS helps more than 17,000 clients from over 200 countries, supported by more than 500 staff and 700 volunteers. As the front door for many newcomers arriving in Nova Scotia, ISANS works with communities, employers, and partner organizations to foster welcoming, inclusive environments that support belonging and growth. It positions itself as a connector within the immigrant settlement space, coordinating services across settlement, language, employment, and integration. In June 2025, ISANS launched two additional training cohorts for its Bridge to Construction program, expanding opportunities for newcomers to pursue careers in the province's construction sector.
