Global Electronics Council (GEC) is a nonprofit organization based in Portland, Oregon, founded in 2006 to promote more equitable and sustainable outcomes in electronics. The organization emphasizes that electronics are increasingly embedded in a wide range of products—from homes and cars to wearables—and that while electronic technologies can deliver societal benefits, their production and use carry notable environmental and social costs.
