Based in the city of Alexandria, the organization functions as a small nonprofit serving the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Founded in 1974, Friends of Guest House has extended its local footprint, including opening a new residential facility on Payne Street in Old Town Alexandria in 2019.
