Federated Energy Services Cooperative Inc.-North Central Electric and Lorain-Medina Rural Electric, known as FESCO, is a nonprofit shared services cooperative formed in 1998 to pool essential support functions for two Ohio electric distribution cooperatives. It centralizes management, accounting, billing, engineering, communications, member relations, and marketing to improve coordination and efficiency across its member utilities. The cooperative is based in Attica, in north central Ohio, and serves as the administrative hub for North Central Electric Cooperative and Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative. North Central Electric Cooperative serves about 9,600 members across eight counties and maintains roughly 1,800 miles of lines, 11 substations, and one metering point; Lorain-Medina Rural Electric Cooperative serves about 16,000 consumers across five counties, with about 1,500 miles of lines and 15 substations. Both co-ops operate as not-for-profit, member-owned utilities governed by elected boards. In January 2026, North Central Electric announced the appointment of Mike Scheib as chief executive officer.
