The Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank) was established in 1982 by an Act of Parliament to finance, facilitate, and promote India's foreign trade. Headquartered in Holiday Camp, Maharashtra, the bank operates in the international trade and development sector, delivering both financial and value-added services to Indian exporters. It provides term loans to export-oriented units in Indian rupees or foreign currencies for setting up new production facilities, expanding or modernizing existing ones, and acquiring production equipment or technology. The bank extends lines of credit to overseas entities, national governments, regional financial institutions, and commercial banks, and it offers buyers’ and suppliers’ credits to support export activity. It also runs programs to finance R&D for high-tech EOUs, provides Marketing Advisory Services to assist firms in identifying partners and opportunities, and supports inclusive development through its GRID initiative, supported by a strong in-house research capability.
