Expedition Credit Union, based in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, is a member-owned financial services cooperative with origins dating to 1957, when it was established to serve Minnesota Education Association members. After the 1998 merger of Minnesota’s teachers unions, its field of membership broadened to include staff and members of Education Minnesota, and the organization operated under the United Educators Credit Union name beginning January 1, 1999; it now operates under Expedition Credit Union and remains sponsored by Education Minnesota ESI. In May 2019 the credit union expanded its service area to include individuals who live, work, worship, go to school, or do business in Anoka, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, and Washington Counties, broadening access beyond solely educators. It currently manages assets around $190 million and serves nearly 17,000 members, with branch offices in Apple Valley and Coon Rapids. In November 2021, Expedition Credit Union partnered with Arkatechture to integrate its core banking system with Arkatechture’s data analytics platform, Arkalytics.
